Why not go for it and make a festive treat?
how about some peppermint (candy cane) hot chocolate ?
make some hot chocolate put in some cream , marshmallows,
cinnamon , grated chocolate and last of all a peppermint candycane
to give it a minty kick on the cold winter days !

Or why not try some peppermint bark?
melt some chocolate and put it in a flat baking tray add melted 
marshmallow on top of it (or white chocolate) and crush
some candy canes and sprinkle them on top ! Then put it in the fridge
to let the chocolate set !
There are probably better and nicer recipes and verisions of this 
but that's a short and quick version for the days when relatives ring
up around christmas telling you they're dropping in but then you 
remember there's some peppermint bark sitting in the fridge and 
when they arrive you can make them some peppermint hot chocolate :)
